Requesting an article/book/dissertation

Requests can be submitted via the online inter-library loan form Request an Inter-Library LoanThis can also be found on the Yeats Library website under Services and Inter-Library Loans.

Before Submitting a Request

Please ensure you have checked the following resources before submitting a request:

Completing the Request Form

  1. Use your ATU Sligo username and password to access the access the Inter-Library Loan Request Form.
  2. Read and agree to the Copyright Terms & Conditions before proceeding 
  3. Select the type of request you require (book, chapter, article, thesis) 
  4. Select the destination as Yeats Library
  5. Create the request -enter as much detail as possible when completing the request details including page numbers for articles, as this will help with search for the correct item.
  6. Create  using your ATU Sligo email address for notification of the request.

To view, edit or cancel the request, login to your library account via the Library Catalogue.

Inter-library and Document Supply items requested from the British Library or any other charging supplier cannot be cancelled. We will cancel a request to another academic library, where possible.

Collection, Renewal and Returns

Collection

  • Currently all inter-library loans are in hard copy format and can be collected from the Library Information Desk. You will be notified by email when requested items are available for collection.
  • Items can be posted to online learners if required. Please contact interlibraryloans.sligo@atu.ie to request this service.
  • Book requests can take a little longer to arrive as they must be posted from the lending library 

Renewals

It is important that all borrowed Inter-library loan items are returned by the given due date. Renewals may not be possible and are at the discretion of the lending library. Please contact Inter-Library Loans you want to renew a book.

Returns

Inter-library loan books can only be checked in at the Library information Desk, the Quick Check cannot be used. For articles and book chapters, you will receive a photocopy of the required pages which you can keep.
