Standards

Standards are specifications for a recommended procedure, quality of output, terminology and other details in a farticular field.  They tell you what you need to do to make something or carry out some task to a particular level of quality.

Standards are created by national and international standards bodies such as the National Standards Authority of Ireland (IS - Irish Standards), the British Standards Institution (BS - British Standards), the Europen Committee for Standardisation (EN - European Standards) and the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO - International Standards).
