Staff Guide: Information Literacy

When you are setting an assignment it might be worth meeting with library staff to ensure we have the resources  in place to meet your needs. Alternatively, you might consider designing an assignment in a way to encourage students to develop library research skills.

First year library induction informs students of our services and resources.

A further tutorial can be arranged to help them with a particular assignment.

This can take place :

• In a theatre or class room with internet access
• In a lab where the students can take part
• All Advanced tutorials in database use for 2nd-4th years
• must be pre booked and planned with the relevant subject librarian.

Library staff are available to visit your lecture theatre, class room or computer lab to guide your students in the use of our many resources.
